Jamie is a Mobile Pro Technician at Safelite in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana market. His main responsibilities include installing vehicle glass and other Safelite products on a mobile basis as well as performing windshield repairs.
In addition to his work, Jamie loves the outdoors and just became a father to a son on July 27, 2011.
In late June 2011, a woman by the name of Dana Hannah was in the process of moving from Florida to Texas and while travelling on Interstate 10 between Lafayette and Lake Charles, Louisiana the luggage carrier on top of her vehicle opened and pieces of her luggage flew out onto the highway. Dana said she “saw her bags in the rear view mirror flying off the vehicle.”

Dana said she and her husband had to go several miles to an appropriate turnaround to return to the spot where the luggage was lost. When they arrived at the approximate location there was no luggage in sight. Unknown to Dana, Safelite Technician Jamie Sonnier had seen the incident occur and had pulled over to retrieve the bags.

Upon collecting the contents of the luggage, Jamie then drove to the same turnaround and returned to the vicinity, driving slowly until he saw Dana’s vehicle travelling in the same direction. He signaled to Dana to pull over and then to her surprise pulled her luggage out of his service van.

Jamie said she offered him payment for his kindness and time but Jamie refused. She asked him how he came to pick up her lost luggage and Jaime said he saw the entire incident and immediately pulled over, and then running along the highway he retrieved every item of lost luggage.

When asked about Jamie, his supervisor, Technician Manager Tony Darbonne said “Jamie is a special guy. He is hard working, never complains and is very down to earth.” Tony commented that Jamie never spoke about the incident at work; instead it was Mrs. Hannah who called Safelite’s Executive Services Team to compliment both Jamie and the company for having employees who “go above and beyond.” Tony said “that’s just the way Jaime is…he is never thinking about himself – it’s always someone else.”

Jamie is also a solid technician having the highest Technician Promoter Score of Mobile Pros in the Baton Rouge market (97.8%) and barely 1% of his work ever has reported quality issues. Jamie has been recognised in the Safelite Excellence in Service program.

Not only is Jamie a model of what is meant by “Customer Delight” but he has actively demonstrated the Safelite value of Caring through his actions. We are sure we have a future customer in Dana Hannah and your efforts truly were “above and beyond.”
